Terms of service

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing or using the Dazr browser ("the Browser"), or accessing the dazr.eu website, the search service or the site-report tool ("the Services"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use them.

2. What Dazr is

Dazr is a desktop web browser built on Chromium, made independently in Europe. Dazr also operates a privacy-respecting search proxy and a site-report (audit) tool. All three are provided free of charge for personal and commercial use.

3. Licence (the Browser)

The Browser is provided as-is for your use. You may install and use it on any number of devices. You may not:

4. The website, the search proxy and the site-report tool

The dazr.eu website provides information about Dazr products and hosts the search proxy and the site-report tool. The search service forwards your queries to upstream search providers and returns results. The site-report tool runs a privacy / security audit against a URL you provide.

You agree not to:

5. Open-source components

The Browser includes open-source components (Chromium, the Ghostery ad-blocker engine, filter lists and others) that are subject to their own licences. These licences are preserved and respected. Your use of those components is governed by their respective licences in addition to these terms.

6. Updates

The Browser may check for updates from our servers. Updates are optional and require your confirmation before installation. We may release updates that add features, fix bugs or address security issues. We are not obligated to provide updates on any schedule.

7. No warranty

The Browser and the Services are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, beyond what EU consumer law mandates. We do not guarantee that the Browser will be error-free, secure or available at all times. We are not responsible for:

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dazr is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Browser or the Services. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or anything that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Acceptable-use enforcement

If we detect abuse of the search proxy, the site-report tool or any other service we host, we may rate-limit or block requests from the offending source. Persistent abuse may result in IP-level blocks. We do not require an account to use these services and we therefore do not maintain any "ban list" beyond rate-limit counters.

10. Privacy

What we do with personal data is in the Privacy policy.

11. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always lives at this URL with a date stamp at the top. Continued use of the Browser or the Services after a change means you accept the new terms.

12. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by Italian law. Disputes are heard in the courts of Italy, except where mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence give you the right to bring an action there.
