Free. No ads. Lectures in a floating window.
A browser built so you can watch a lecture in the corner while taking notes, search without scrolling past four ads and an AI summary, and study without feeling like ten different ad networks are watching. Free, no account, no email gate. Just download it.
Picture-in-picture for lectures, on by default
The single feature that changes how you study online.
Pop a lecture into a floating window automatically
Auto-PiP is on by default. Start a YouTube lecture, a Coursera video, an edX module, a university Panopto recording, switch to another tab to take notes, and the video pops into a small floating window in the corner. The video keeps playing. You can resize it, drag it anywhere on screen, and click through to the original tab when you want.
You can also do it manually: click the little PiP icon that appears on any video. Works with YouTube, Vimeo, Coursera, edX, Khan Academy, MIT OpenCourseWare, university Panopto / Kaltura players, MS Teams recordings, basically every HTML5 video on the web.
- Auto-PiP when you switch away from a video tab
- Manual PiP via the icon on the video player
- Floating window stays on top of any window or app
- Works on Mac, Windows, and Linux
What else changes when you switch
No ads, anywhere
The web feels lighter when you don't have to mentally subtract three sponsored boxes from every search result. Built-in ad blocker, on by default, with the same blocklists uBlock Origin uses. No extension to install.
No AI summary cluttering search results
Search results show search results, not an AI overview pretending to know your assignment. If you want to use AI, open ChatGPT or Claude in a tab. The browser itself stays out of it.
No tracking across study sessions
That late-night search for "what is the difference between..." doesn't follow you onto Instagram as an ad the next morning. Anti-fingerprinting on by default. Tracking codes stripped from links automatically.
Free, no email, no account
Download, install, use. There's no Dazr account to make. There's no "free for students" trick, it's free for everyone. We don't sell ads and we don't sell data, so the browser is just free.
All the streaming services work
Netflix, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Premium, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, HBO · Dazr supports the DRM these services need. Your study-music playlist works fine.
Vertical tabs (when you have 30 open)
Toggle vertical tabs in settings. When you've opened a tab for every lecture slide, every Stack Exchange answer, and every "background-on-this-topic" Wikipedia link, vertical tabs let you actually read the names instead of staring at a row of pixel-wide slivers.
Frequently asked questions
Is Dazr really free for students?
Yes, free for everyone, students included. There's no student tier, no education licence, no email-verification gate. There's no paid tier at all. We don't take ad revenue and we don't sell data, so the browser is just free.
How does picture-in-picture work?
Auto-PiP is on by default in Dazr. When you switch tabs while a video is playing, the video pops into a small floating window that stays on top while you take notes in another window or another app. Click the little PiP icon on any video to send it to the floating window manually. Works with YouTube, Coursera, edX, Khan Academy, university Panopto / Kaltura players, MS Teams recordings, anything with HTML5 video.
Will my school's tools work?
Yes. Dazr is Chromium-based, so anything that works in Chrome works in Dazr, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams web, Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Zoom web client, Notion, Google Docs / Office 365 web. Logging in with your school's Google or Microsoft account works the same way.
Will Spotify, Netflix, and YouTube Premium work?
Yes. Dazr supports Widevine, so all the DRM-protected streaming services work out of the box (Netflix, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Premium, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, HBO, the lot).
Does the ad blocker break sites I need to use?
Almost never. The default blocklists are tuned to leave login flows, payments, and CAPTCHAs alone. If a particular site does break, click the toolbar icon to disable blocking just for that site, it's one click.
