Data processing

Last updated 9 May 2026 · When a Data Processing Agreement applies to Dazr products.

The short version Most Dazr products don't require a DPA between us and you. The browser is a desktop app, not a service. The website, search proxy and site-report tool are anonymous and stateless from a personal-data perspective. A formal DPA does apply to the Dazr Compliance platform; that one lives at compliance.dazr.eu/legal/dpa.

The Dazr browser

The browser is a desktop application installed on your machine. We do not receive your browsing data, your bookmarks or any content you view. There is no processor / controller relationship between you and us with respect to your use of the browser, because we don't process your data at all.

If you are an enterprise distributing the Dazr browser inside your organisation under a managed-deployment model, and you require a written DPA to cover update checks, DNS endpoints or filter-list caches that the browser hits on our infrastructure, email legal@dazr.eu. We will execute a short-form DPA on a standard template at no cost.

The dazr.eu website, the search proxy and the site-report tool

For visitors to dazr.eu, we are the data controller for any personal data we hold (server logs, contact-form submissions, newsletter subscriptions). This is not a processor / controller relationship between us and you, so a DPA in the GDPR Art. 28 sense does not apply.

If your organisation embeds or relies on the search proxy or the site-report tool at scale and your DPA requires that we sign one, contact legal@dazr.eu with the request. We do not normally execute DPAs for free anonymous services.

The Dazr Compliance platform

For the compliance product at compliance.dazr.eu, we are a processor on behalf of your organisation under GDPR Art. 28. The full DPA is published at compliance.dazr.eu/legal/dpa. It activates automatically when you create a workspace.

Standard contractual clauses

Where any sub-processor we use is established outside the EU, transfers are governed by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. The current sub-processors and their locations are at /legal/subprocessors.
