What’s new

A quick log of recent improvements. Newest first.

v1.2.13-beta Latest
  • Dazr now updates itself. New versions download quietly in the background and the installer runs when you close the browser, so the next time you open it you’re already on the new build. Nothing to click. The checksum is verified before anything is installed. You can switch it off in Settings → Advanced if you’d rather decide for yourself.
  • Fixed a session-restore race that could leave you on one tab while the page from a different tab was on screen. Restoring many tabs at once now ends up in a clean, predictable state.
  • External PDFs no longer open with a giant black rectangle covering the page. The bundled PDF viewer now paints its own background from the first frame instead of letting the dark backbuffer show through.
  • Your download list survives restarts. The last few completed downloads stay in the panel after you quit and reopen, ready to be re-opened or shown in the folder.
  • Dragging a finished download out of the download bar onto your desktop or another app now works again. Fell back to a more reliable code path that doesn’t depend on data-URL icons.
  • Opening a new tab now drops the cursor straight into the URL bar so you can just start typing. The home page’s own search box no longer steals focus from the chrome.
v1.2.12-beta
  • Small stability pass on tab switching and window resize. A handful of edge cases that occasionally left the page looking frozen for a second after a switch should no longer happen.
  • Lower idle memory use. Tabs you haven’t touched in a while release a bit more of their unused buffers, especially on Linux.
  • Updated the bundled translations. More of the in-browser strings are now translated in Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese.
  • Refreshed the Settings panel layout. Toggles line up cleanly on narrower windows and the “Default browser” button no longer wraps onto two lines.
v1.2.11-beta
  • The URL bar now leaves your typing alone. No more characters disappearing or selection breaking when a page does something in the background.
  • Hunted down the long-running "page goes blank for no reason" bug. Several leaks that pushed the chrome on top of the page have been closed; tabs you come back to should stay alive instead of paint-stripped.
  • Press F12 or Ctrl+Shift+I to open the standard Chromium DevTools, the same panel you know from Chrome and Edge. Web devs get the full toolset, no learning curve.
  • Updated to a newer Chromium engine. Faster JavaScript, better website compatibility, and the latest security patches from upstream.
  • Loading flaky pages got nicer too: more transient network errors are quietly retried so the “can’t reach this site” screen shows up less often.
v1.2.10-beta
  • PDFs now open straight in our built-in viewer, whether you click one online or open a local file from your computer.
  • Tabs stay snappy when you come back to them after a while. If anything ever looks off, the page now refreshes itself automatically.
  • The page area is fully clickable while the URL bar is focused, so your search box and links always respond on the first tap.
  • Page-to-page navigation feels noticeably smoother: we streamlined how the browser repaints between loads.
  • Welcome to Apple Silicon. Native macOS arm64 builds now ship with every release.
v1.2.9-beta
  • Tidied up the small in-browser tip that suggests turning off fingerprint protection when a site misbehaves.
  • Polished the bottom-of-screen compatibility bar so it now sits flush against the page, the way it always should have.
